All contributions will assist Crane River Theater for our 2018 Summer Season and Educational Programs. Our season will include seven shows: our Concert Series production of The Secret Garden, the touching comedy The Boys Next Door, the fun family musical Madagascar, the classic Broadway musical Annie, the The Last Five Years as our Destination Series musical, as well as Celebrate Broadway and Let It Snow. Audiences for the productions are anticipated to reach more than 20,000 people over the course of the season. Madagascar will be performed at the Cope Amphitheater in Yanney Heritage Park in association with Kearney Park and Recreation. Admission will be very minimal, so sponsorship is very important. The Boys Next Door will be held in collaboration with the UNK Theatre Department. Annie, Celebrate Braodway, and Let It Snow will each be performed at the Merryman Performing Arts Center, and The World Theatre will be the site for The Last Five Years.

Crane River Theater is excited to once again offer a series of arts education programs for youth. Every summer we offer our widely popular Explore Theater classes made possible by our partnerships with Kearney Park and Recreation and Kearney Area Children’s Museum. In an effort to raise awareness and excitement toward the arts among high school students, our Backstage Workshop allows students a chance to receive a backstage look at a professional production and take part in a series of theatrical workshops. Crane River Theater is excited to reprise our Page to Stage series to libraries across Central Nebraska for their Summer Reading Programs. Last year, we presented workshops to eight area libraries and we plan to expand that even further this year. We have already exposed more than 10,000 kids of all ages to the joy of theater and we hope to continue that trend. Help us nurture the artistic talents of these young individuals by supporting our arts education programs.
