April grew up in Odessa, Nebraska, and graduated from Elm Creek High School where she was active in journalism, speech and theater. She earned her BS in Journalism-News Editorial from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2007, and was part of the Antelope Newspaper for several years, serving as a writer, photographer and member of the editorial staff. Upon graduation, April started playing around in graphic and ad design in her spare time, and began helping with the season program designs for Crane River Theater in 2011. April worked two years in Hickman, Nebraska, as a newspaper reporter and photographer for the VOICE News, where she was awarded runner-up for the 2014 Outstanding Young Nebraska Journalist. April is excited to be back home in Kearney where she can help out with the website, volunteer, graphic and ad design needs of Crane River Theater, and be an official part of Crane River Theater a graphic designer.
