David is very excited to be in Crane River’s productions of Red and Tarzan. He has been involved in many productions both with Crane River Theater and at Kearney Community Theatre (where he also serves on the Board of Directors) both as an actor and as a director. But his love of theater goes way, way back (How far? Don’t ask.), and he is now just happy to be able to continue to live the dream. Some of his favorite stage roles have been as The Narrator/Mysterious Man in Into the Woods, one of the “Clowns” in The 39 Steps, Fagin in Oliver!, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, Felix Ungar in The Odd Couple, Sandor Turai in Rough Crossing, Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Man in the Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone, and Juror 8 in 12 Angry Men. Plays he has directed include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Enchanted April, Clue: the Musical, The Importance of Being Earnest, Arcadia, and Hello Dolly! Similar to many other actors, for his day job he waits (metaphorical) tables where hungry people seek (metaphysical) fare for (intellectual) pleasure. In other words, he’s a philosophy professor at UNK. He thanks his wonderful and very talented wife, Judy, for her continuous help and support over the past 33 years!
