Anita “Jo” Lenhart resides in Memphis, TN but enjoys traveling round the country to perform in a variety of venues, including Thingamajig Theatre in Colorado, The Barter Theatre and Mill Mountain Theatre in Virginia, The Neil Simon Festival in Utah, The Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Opera Memphis, Playhouse on the Square in Memphis and Lamplighter’s Music Theatre in San Francisco. Favorite roles include “Fraulein Schneider” “in Cabaret, Baby Jane” in Jerry Springer the Opera, Queen Margaret in Richard III and “Charlotte” in A Little Night Music. “Jo” also directs in Memphis –King Lear for New Moon Theatre, As You Like It for Theatre Memphis, Bad Jews for Circuit Playhouse – and teaches performance training for The Department of Theatre and Dance at The University of Memphis.  Her work in the classroom is informed by her professional career and her work as a certified yoga instructor. “Jo” is also a Certified Trainer in the internationally recognized Lessac Voice and Body Work. Trained as a classical singer, “Jo” began her singing career as a Metropolitan Opera District Audition Winner and performs as a soloist of sacred music in Memphis and other cities around the country.
