Cord Elam

Bob grew up on a farm 11 miles southeast of Lexington and graduated from Kearney State College in 1972 with a B.A. in Speech and Theater. Bob had several careers, but a stint as a photographer/reporter for the Lexington Clipper Herald, writing and taking pictures, was one of his best experiences. He wrote a personal column, twice receiving first place state awards. He also published a book of his columns, “The View from a Tree”. Bob was a museum director for five years, and later worked 11 years for Morris Publishing, assisting authors with printing their books. Bob retired two years ago, but can often be found volunteering at the Archway, delivering Meals-On-Wheels, singing in the First Presbyterian Church Choir and the Platte River Singers, serving concessions at the World Theater, and assisting wherever he can with Crane River productions. He also loves movies, books and music. He thanks his wife Sue for letting him out of the house to play Cord Elam in OKLAHOMA, a role he originated during his senior year of high school 51 years ago!
