Benton is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama, with three degrees in Theatre, Film, and Studio Art. Having a passion for all elements of theatre, on-stage and off, Benton is thrilled to be back with Crane River as a performer, designer, and director. Benton Reed has written and directed his own original one-act, Blood from a Stone, and his student short film, PASSION, has been selected for screening at the Southern Gothic Film Festival. As a performer, he has played roles such as Lord Farquaad in Shrek: The Musical, and the Wolf and Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods. As a designer, he has designed lights for Spring Awakening and Into the Woods, and sound and music for The River and Ten Blocks on the Camino Real. Away from theatre, he works as a musician, sculptor, and writer.
