Clayton is the director of choirs at Kearney High School. He directs six choral ensembles, including the Kearney High School Chorale, Varsity Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir, Girls’ Glee and the competitive KHS Pops Choir and the Sapphire and Gold Singers. He credits as the music director for the KHS include: Once Upon a Mattress, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women, All Shook Up, The Wizard of Oz, and Les Miserables. He received a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, Nebraska Choral Director’s Association, National Association for Music Education and board member for the Kearney Concert Association and the Crane River Theater Company.
