Corey was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Throughout school, she was involved in all things fine arts, including concert and show choir, marching and concert band, theatre, and individual lessons on piano and French horn. She attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and interned at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln. After earning her Music Business degree in 2008, she spent nearly seven years working at Nebraska Television Network as a newscast producer and assignment editor. During her time as Assignment Editor, Corey oversaw all reporters and photographers in the newsroom, determined content for each daily newscast, and was the lead producer for live broadcast events, including election coverage, the Harvest of Harmony Parade, and Nebraska State Fair broadcasts. As Managing Director for Crane River Theater, Corey handles the daily operations for Crane River Theater, including bookkeeping and finances, ticket sales, marketing and social media, and coordination of rental contracts. She has also been on stage as a member of the ensemble in Elf the Musical, and as a member of the orchestra for Man of La Mancha and The Secret Garden. She is a member of the Kearney Area Chamber Young Professionals Network, and serves on their Outreach Committee. Corey currently lives in Kearney with her husband, Bryce, and her twins, Cassie and Collin.
