Josh Magee, of Lincoln, Nebraska, took an unconventional path to the fine arts. Being a professional mechanic switching to a career in theatre production, while uncommon, has been a rewarding path. He is currently in the process of earning a BFA in theatre production with an emphasis in technical and design. In addition to assisting with carpentry for several productions, he was the assistant properties manager for The Nebraska Repertory Theatre’s production of Dutchman. He also was the assistant director for The Nebraska Repertory Theatre’s production of Hair. Recently he designed and built a 15-foot-tall puppet for The Spirit of ’68, which requires 3 people to operate. When not in class, fabricating props, creating costumes or building set pieces, he is a professional mediator with additional restorative justice training. He is thankful for all of the experience that he has received at UNL and is looking forward to the designs and productions at Crane River Theater
