An incoming senior at Amherst High School, Kyrstin Hughes is involved in speech, one act, band, and choir. She has qualified for several honor bands and choirs, including Masonic All-Star Marching Band for 3 years. Kyrstin was also accepted into All State Choir this year as a soprano. Kyrstin was in the Crane River Theater production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last summer. Being involved in Crane River Theater inspired her to go back to her school and become the student director of the one act. Kyrstin also designed the set, costumes and makeup, as well as being an actor. Kyrstin was named Outstanding Actress at both conference and district competitions for her school. This year, she returned to State Speech in Serious Prose and Entertainment. She also teaches Sunday school for 4 and 5 year olds at her church. A fun fact about Kyrstin, she made a guest appearance with her sister as Elsa and Anna for the Just For Kix Christmas dance recital, and as Belle from Beauty and the Beast at the Amherst Jubilee.
