Sam is Professor and Chair of the University of Nebraska-Kearney English Department, where he has taught the past 28 years. He enjoys opportunities to work with his colleagues in the UNK Theatre Department, most recently appearing in Chekhov’s Three Sisters. He has also directed some productions, most recently William Gibson’s A Cry of Players. Previously, Sam directed Ionesco’s The Lesson and Mary Chase’s Harvey. Frequently teaching classes on the history of the motion picture, he has authored several books on film and recently completed a film encyclopedia on director Tim Burton. He is very pleased to be working with Crane River Theater this summer!
