Disney’s smash hit movie musical comes to life onstage at Yanney Park! It’s the irresistible story of two teenagers — Troy Bolton, super-popular captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, super-smart transfer student and a genius in science class — who try to navigate the tricky currents of peer pressure to follow their dream and score the leads in the big school show. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well. This high-spirited production will feature all of your favorite characters and songs in a story of friendship, first love and acceptance. High School Musical is sure to be fun for the whole family!
Frequently Asked Questions
All tickets are sold at the admission gate each night. There are no advance ticket sales. Each ticket is just $5 for all ages. Age 1 and under is free.
Admission gates open at 5:30pm each night, and the show begins at 7pm.
If you are a season ticket holder, you should have received your ticket voucher(s) in the mail. If you did not receive your vouchers, please contact our office at 308-627-5796.
Parking is available in the following locations:
- North parking lot – near the Peterson Senior Center. Entrance is off of 11th Street.
- South parking lot – near the playground and splash pad. Entrance is off of Yanney Avenue.
- Overflow parking – if parking lots are full, we will open the overflow parking lot in the grass to the south of the South parking lot.
- Yanney Avenue – parking is allowed on the east side of Yanney Avenue (the side the park is on). No parking is allowed on the west side of the street.
We will have golf carts routinely traveling to both parking lots to assist patrons in getting to the hillside.
We recommend bringing lawn chairs or blankets for your seating. There is bleacher seating available, but it is limited. We will reserve the front portion of the hillside for blankets only, so you don’t have to worry about chairs being placed in front of you.
Depending on weather, we certainly recommend items like sunscreen, bug spray, a jacket or blanket, etc.
We will have a full concession stand available each night, featuring items like pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, sno cones, soda, water, candy bars, and more. The concession stand will open at 5:30pm and will remain open through intermission. Cash and credit is accepted.
You are also welcome to bring in food or drinks if you wish. Please note that alcohol is prohibited, as it is a city park.
The show runs just over two hours, including the intermission.
In the case of inclement weather, we will make announcements on our social media pages, so we encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
If there is a chance of inclement weather during the show, we will designate a volunteer to keep watch on all conditions, so we can make any announcements/changes as needed.
