Tuesdays with Morrie
Summer 2016
Tuesdays With Morrie is a heart-warming play that perfectly blends comedy, drama and poignancy. Written for the stage by Mitch Albom and Jeffrey Hatcher, and based on Albom’s best selling book, Tuesdays With Morrie is a feast for the mind and the heart. It is the story of Mitch, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a final class in the meaning of life.
Crane River Theater’s production of Tuesdays with Morrie will be performed at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Studio Theater with the audience seated on stage just a few feet away from the actors. With seating for one hundred people, this intimate venue provides the perfect setting for audience members to connect to this moving and compelling story.
